Galvanic skin response (GSR), is a physiological measure that can be used to monitor and assess pain. It measures the body’s involuntary, or autonomic, response to a painful stimulus through measuring the electrical conductance changes in the skin caused by sweat gland activity. As a future research project, the Extrength group aims to apply optimal localized pressure to the area of back pain by adding a GSR sensor to the Extrength belt, and collecting the resulting information at the beginning of the air cushions’ activation. By collecting GSR sensor data and transferring it to AI and ML, appropriate feedback can be obtained to reduce or increase the pressure of the cushions. This project can provide the operation of the Extrength belt with a lower error rate and greater comfort for the patient.
What Matters Most in non-invasion Orthopedic Care? People Say AI is the Game-Changer
When it comes to improving orthopedic care, people are placing their bets on technology—specifically, artificial intelligence!
In a recent poll conducted by Extrength Technologies, participants were asked about the factors they consider most effective in orthopedic treatments. An impressive 65% of respondents voted for cutting-edge technology as the key to advancing the field. This overwhelming preference underscores a growing belief that AI can revolutionize the diagnosis, treatment, and management of orthopedic issues.

However, the poll also shed light on other significant priorities: 25% of participants emphasized the need for cost-effective treatments, indicating that affordability remains a critical factor, while 10% highlighted the importance of enhanced accessibility, stressing the need for care that is easier to reach for everyone.
These findings perfectly align with our mission at Extrength—to push the boundaries of orthopedic care using AI, all while keeping patients at the heart of what we do. As we continue to innovate, our goal is to make advanced care not only smarter but also more affordable and accessible for people everywhere.
